VOTING RIGHTS
As a state representative, I proposed legislation to make voting easier, such as no-reason absentee voting. And I vigorously opposed bills to frustrate voting, such as strict voter ID laws. As our next state senator, I would propose measures to make voting more accessible by:
- Sponsoring legislation to allow vote by mail, early voting, and no-reason absentee
- Introducing legislation to reduce long lines, such as budget amendments to fund additional poll-books and poll-workers at crowded precincts
- Allowing same day registration and online registration
- Sponsoring legislation to allow 16 and 17 year-olds to pre-register for their first election
